Napa Valley Real Estate

Located in Northern California, the Napa Valley is only 30 miles long and anywhere between one and five miles wide, the Napa Valley is only one-eighth the size of Bordeaux, France, yet still produces some of the world’s best wine. Forty-five thousand acres are planted with grapes alone. The valley is home to over 200 wineries, providing something for every wine connoisseur’s taste.

Residents of this region benefit from the comfortable lifestyle as well as the stunning scenery.

Historically, the Napa Valley has always served as a wine-producing region. Its history dates back to the California Gold Rush, when a large demand for wine was established after the wealth of the Gold Rush began to spread. Once prohibition was instituted, wineries were closed all throughout the valley and replaced with walnut and prune orchards. It wasn’t until the 1960s that a large winery opened again in the Napa Valley.

Napa Valley real estate agents will tell you most of the homes in the valley are concentrated into five main, incorporated towns: Calistoga, St. Helena, Yountville, Napa and American Canyon. Each of these towns offers a different atmosphere and is noted for certain amenities. For example, Calistoga is renowned for its spas and nightlife, whereas St. Helena is famous for its many upscale boutiques. Napa is the largest city, with a population of a little over 75,000. Not just limited to wine, the Napa Valley provides world-class cuisine, art and shopping for its residents to enjoy. The fun isn’t limited to just shops and restaurants; you can also choose to take a hot air balloon high above the rows of vineyards during a California sunrise. Each February and March, residents and tourists alike take part in the Napa Valley Mustard Festival that celebrates the wine, cuisine, art and culture of the Napa Valley.

Also celebrating the unique culture of the Napa Valley is COPIA, a non-profit center that strives to offer the best in wine, cuisine, films, concerts, art, shopping and more. Located in the heart of the Napa Valley, COPIA has something for tasters of every level of experience.

The real estate market in Napa Valley is currently in favor of the buyers. Homes in this area can range from a few hundred thousand dollars up to a few million dollars. Napa Valley real estate agents can help you find the right home for you.
